This is the rack rail kit you want if you have a 2015 - 2021 outlander with the pre installed side rails. They may fit earlier models 2012 - 2014, but I am not sure. I am using them on a 2017, which is a gen 3 post 2015 facelift model.I bought these to use in a pinch when I didn't want to hook up the trailer for runs to Menards, Home Depot or wherever. They clamp on solidly and look great on a white GT model with the silver factory side rails. I have strapped a few sheets of plywood on them for a trip home from the store. I didn't go over 40 on city streets, but they held firmly. I would not recommend testing hauling plywood on at interstate speeds.They do add a bit of wind noise to the vehicle, especially when the sunroof is open. I am sure they impact gas mileage as well, but I have not done any calculations since the outlander is mainly used in town and mileage is poor anyway. I would expect a 2 - 4 MPG drop on the highway. Even more reduction if you have a large item on the racks.Done be afraid to pull the trigger on these if you have the side rails pre installed from the Mitsu factory. These fit, perform and look really good.
