I'll start with cons as it involves assembly.Cons:1. There are 2 instruction manuals. Main one contains 2 different models. Very confusing instruction to say the least. I don't understand why they have to separate it into 2 manuals. You will have to read both before you start assembly and will have to refer both both during. The installation video they posted here is not much of help as the video skips lots of steps.Even with that, the instruction skips crucial information here and there. For example, you start by putting the posts into the bars. In the process of doing that, you will have to cut the included plastic rulers to their recommendation (varies by cars). It was nerve wrecking because they don't say to cut the remaining half to length or they didn't include any additional plastics. If you mess it up, that's it till you get replacement parts from them (not even sure if you can). Then you put the plastic insert, then the post, then the other half of plastic insert. When you put in the post, it doesn't go all the way to meet the first half of plastic. It didn't look right, so I fussed around with them multiple times (the plastic has been cut already so I couldn't get away with any wrong installation at that point), then ended up measuring the width of my car's roof to make sure it will be alright and proceeded with what-looks-like unfinished post installation. Remember you have to do this on all four posts. If you're not sure about the 1st post, you become hesitant to cut the 2nd plastic.Similar frustration with key fobs. It was easy enough to figure out but the location of the instruction was in second manual... Why?I really thought this is a German product as the manual had limited language but all illustration that wasn't even adequate. And it was printed a bit too small so some of the letters were quite hard to read (yes my vision is fine). There are many other things that the manuals really fall behind of. If the product was really made in US and manual written by American people, shame on them.I'm really handy (house repair, car repair and electrical etc) and it took me 1.5 hours to install these simple racks.. Insane if you ask me.2. Wind whistlingThis really is a turn off. I have used a few skin racks (yeah not quite like cross racks like this but ski racks installed on side rails) and never had this much whistling noise.Up to 70 miles per hour, it is tolerable. Over 70mph, it becomes increasingly loud with all windows closed. I tested up to 110mph in a closed track. Over 80mph, it can be quite intolerable to some people. It IS loud... Mine was installed secure and proper per instruction. I was going to return it but for Cayenne without pre installed rails, there aren't many options..3. The covers that go on sides of bars leave a slight gap when installed. They don't move during the driving but it does bother me. And water will not have hard time to go in the gap I guarantee you.Pros:1. Finished product is quite secure and quite good looking.2. The rack seems quite sturdy and holds large travel rooftop bag well. I haven't really tried anything else yet.3. It's not difficult to remove it from the roof if you don't need it for the time being.4. Mine has moon and sunroof. I can still operate it with the rack installed. I tested that during pre installation and so should you instead of breaking the sunroof later.I'm really not happy about the whistling but I decided to keep it and to remove it when not in use as it's not really difficult to remove it. One thing with frequent removal is: you will have to measure the distances again for the locations. After all dramas during installation, I don't think it really matters if the location is fraction off from their recommendation. I thought the recommended distance is to avoid wind drag and NOISE! Apparently it has nothing to do with those. If you bang your music to a full blast all the time (idiotic but anyway), the noise shouldn't bother you. If you appreciate the calm and collective time during the driving, it WILL bother the heck out of you.If you go at a snail's pace in freeway, it will not bother you. If you like going fast, you may stop the car in the middle of the road to get rid of it.
