It took some poor man engineering to fit the bolts into the holes on MY 2011 GMC Sierra. But, the effort paid off and I am very happy with it, as I am using it more so for a light bar. For 99 bucks, well worth it compared to hundreds others wantFor less then 60.00 used, I have very few complaints. I clamped them in place and marked my 4 holes. Drilled out with a 3/8 bit. Popped the 4 bolts in and tightened down. My first minor complaint. Get yourself 4 more washers and install washers on the top as well as underneath . The bolt heads are to small as my pics show. After that it’s simple. Add your top uprights and crossbar and make sure center tube is centered and tighten one side down. I then spread the uprights apart a little so everything would be solid and tight and then tightened the other side down. It’s as tight as a drum and does not budge at all. My second complaint is the center crossbar. It needs to be a little larger diameter for a snugger fit. If it starts to annoy me I’ll get a pipe made and paint and replace. Also, Do Not over tighten the crossbar to the uprights and center bar. Those threads look like they can strip very easy. If it wasn’t for those 2 things I’d give it five stars. Mind you it was used and had a few scratches but those can be touched up. Overall I’m very happy. Just waiting for the headache rack to arrive and I’ll review that, as I bought it used as well. This is on a 2004 Ford F-150 with the 8ft bedPro:It was easy to put together. It was easy to install. To be honest I am surprised about the sturdiness. I am NOT a contractor and do not intend to use this for supporting building materials on a daily basis. I needed a place to add some LED Lights and Amateur Radio Antennas. It is probably overkill for what I am using it for, but the price was right.Con'sI thought that the enclosed hardware was under-rated for the purpose of the intend use. I Went to the hardware store and picked up larger stainless hardware to bolt this to my truck. After a couple of weeks there is rust showing up at the base inside the crevices around the welds. This is a good rack although you do have to drill into your bed to get it to stay down. I would suggest using clamps that you would for a cover for your bed. I did and I think that it works just as good if not better than drilling it into place. You need to add another bolt /screw to hold top to rails. The T section. Pops off when bed of truck flexs. The base is rather wide for the lip on my 1991 Toyota pickup. But once fully assembled, it's sturdy as can be. You will need to supply your own larger Allen wrench and, if memory serves, 13mm socket on a 3/8" or 1/2" setup. I'd also recommend some sealant for where the center bar goes into the uprights.Easy to remove the entire center section with only loosening 2 bolts if you need to load tall items in your truck.Excellent product! Couldn't be more happy. I get compliments on them all the time since they match my black truck. I highly recommend them for their rugged build, easy installation (about 10 minutes with a drill) and good looks. People are asking me where I got them and they can't believe the price. Some people are paying upwards of 7 to 8 hundred dollars for these things!!Easily assembled. Easy to modify to fit around my bed retractable bed cover. Light duty only (800 lbs), which is what I wanted. Inexpensive.
