Because I don't have it installed at it's longest possible width, it feels good and solid. Using an adjustable width towel bar was the perfect solution to my problem of bathroom space.Just below the wall-mounted towel rack/shelf unit in our master bathroom, we've had a floor-standing towel rack for years - - and my wife has hated it for almost as long!So when I started looking for a new wall-mounted towel bar to mount below the other one, I was hoping to find something that would more or less match the existing unit, though we didn't need one with the built-in shelf.Finding this model on VINE, it looked like it would fit the bill, and it really does.One big plus is the flexibility to fit the space you need. According to the product description, the bars telescope from just under 24" in width out to 42". In reality, the usable width of the bars ranges all the way down to about 21" in width... my guess is that 24" figure is based on the distance from flange-end to flange-end. It also means that the usable bar length maxes out to about 39". And in all honesty, I'd be a little bit cautious about using this at that widest setting... I get the impression that the bars would begin to noticeably sag if they're telescoped out that much.But for the rather narrow setting like we have (about 27"), the fact the tubes are mostly nested inside one another means that the bars are sturdy enough to support a couple of wet towels.The mounting hardware is something else though. If you buy this, and it's not getting mounted directly into wood studs, think about using your own screws and drywall anchors. The included anchors were so awful, they spun freely in the hole when using the screws in the package (and no, I did not drill the holes too large for the anchor!). After some frustrating false attempts, I ended up using drywall toggle-bolt anchors. (These open up and clamp on to the back side of the drywall and thus provide an incredibly sturdy mount.)Make no mistake: For about $30, you're not getting a heavy, stainless steel, brass, or brushed nickel product that will last 3 lifetimes. You're also not spending well in excess of $100 or $200 for a name-brand bathroom manufacturer's product. But see my photos. No one is going to walk into your bathroom and be horrified at your cheap towel bar. It's a decent product at a reasonable price. No. It's not built like a tank. No, the materials aren't rock-solid. But it does what it's supposed to do and it looks good.I got this to install in the shower opposite the showerhead, much like what some of the hotels do. It’s really convenient to have dry towels in the shower and have a way to hang the wet ones before coming out of the shower. This unit has 2 horizontally parallel bars, which allows you to set folded towels on them or just hang them. In addition, it comes with 4 S hooks that can be used to hang small wet items.The installation was a breeze because of the adjustable bars. It will be adjusted to fit any reasonable length. It comes with all the necessary hardware pieces. You will need a drill for the drywall anchors.At this price point, we plan to install one in every shower. It’s so convenient to use and easy to install.I bought this hang my yoga mats on in my writing studio. It's strong enough to hold two heavy mats. The metal is respected, and the design is top-notch, but be sure to predrill your holes because of the cheaper screws or risk a stripped screw head. It looks good on the wall, too.I needed a gold towel rack to replace the silver one we had already but was having problems finding the right size. This towel rack won me over because it is adjustable to your space. Installation was very simple and this looks great in our small half bathroom. Yes, I do recommend this product.Works great & seems very sturdy! Wasn’t hard to install on my bathroom wall. I really like that it’s adjustable so you can fit it to your own needs!This is a nice looking towel rack that matches up well with a similar towel rack on a wall opposite to it. Installation is not overly complicated but I did opt for alternative mounting hardware. I used anchor screws that flare out inside my drywall. The plastic anchors that are included just didn’t look like they would hold up over the long haul. Keep in mind that you’ll also be doubling your weight load with a double rack. It looks modern and stylish and it compliments my other towel rack perfectly.I have seen and repaired many torn towel bars. Can't say that they were inappropriately installed. Many of them were torn with drywall anchors on the screws. It seems that even though drywall can hold a lot of weight with appropriate anchors, the constant motion and random force may ultimately get these anchors loose and towel or toilet paper racks are torn from position.The best benefit of this flexible towel bar is that you can install it with both ends on studs, avoiding the fixed length bar drywall tear problem. Such an installation will last forever--or as long as the bar will last. I don't see any broken bars often, almost never.The bar is with nice quality and true to the descriptive pictures. The finish is perfect and there's much attention to manufacturing details. With appropriate installation as described above, it should last a lifetime.
